Baptism
Have you trusted in Jesus to rescue you from sin? Then the next step is to be baptized.
When you trust in Jesus, God unites you to His Son like a bride to her groom. When this happens, Jesus’s death on the cross is seen as belonging to you now. Your sin is considered buried with Jesus. Jesus’s resurrection now also belongs to you. Because Jesus rose from the dead, you will too. (Romans 6:4-5) This is what baptism acts out.
Jesus said, “So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 10:32-33). Baptism can be an intimidating step to take, but the Lord will give you the strength you need!
Baptism is a visible acting-out of what has happened inside you.
